Drop Spindling Demonstration- Instructor, John Plutchak. Ongoing during the Spring Festival at the Exchange Place, in Kingsport, TN on April 26, from 10 am to 5pm, and April 27, from Noon to 4 pm.

Introduction to Spinning with a Top Whorl Spindle - Instructor, John Plutchak. The instructional fee is $10. This class will take place at Sycamore Shoals State Park in Elizabethton, TN. The class begins at 10:00 a.m. and lasts until Noon on Saturday, March 15, 2008. Prepayment and pre-registration recommended. Contact Sycamore Shoals State park for details. (423) 543-5808

Blender Classes in Kingsport, Tennessee

Blender 3D on going classes will be on Wednesday evenings beginning on January 9, 2008, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the Kingsport Renaissance Center's Art Room on the third floor.

Introduction to Computer 3D Art and Animation - Instructor, Byron Kindig, 5121 Red Robin Lane, Kingsport, TN 37664. This class will take us from an understanding of digital media, to creation of 3D objects, materials, textures, and animation using Blender software that can be downloaded for free at www.blender.org. Bring your own laptop. The class begins Wednesday, January 9, 2008, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., and continues through the end of March. Prepayment and pre-registration required. Make checks payable to the instructor.
