Introduction to Computer 3D Art and AnimatioN Room 228 - at the Kingsport Renaissance Center on Center Street. Instructor, Byron Kindig, 5121 Red Robin Lane, Kingsport, TN 37664. Phone: (423) 863-2864. byron@paraisoenterprises.com The instructional fee is $120 for all 3 days. This class will take us from an understanding of digital media, to creation of 3D objects, materials, textures, and basic animation on to character modeling rigging and skinning. We will then move into more advanced techniques using relative vertex keys and creation of actions and ending up with the use of the Non Linear Animation Editor (NLA.) In addition to the instructional materials there will be be a lot of files that will be useful in continuation of your work after the classes. We will be using Blender software that can be downloaded for free at www.blender.org . Bring your own laptop. The class is Saturday, June 14, 28, July 12, 9:00 – 5:00 p.m. Prepayment and pre-registration required. Make checks payable to the instructor. There is a $10 discount for anyone registering by June 2, 2008 (postmarked).

Phone: (423) 863-2864. byron@paraisoenterprises.com The conference fee is $60 if check and registration are postmarked by July 15, and $75 for late registration. This conference will include mini workshops on various intermediate and advanced techniques used in Blender and is intended for those who are comfortable with the basic use of the interface, basic modeling, and basic materials. The speakers will include Matt Runion who will be teaching a segment on the new particle hair system coming out in version 2.46 and Allen Davis, a past Disney artist from Orlando Disney World who is currently the chief animator at the Bays Mountain Planetarium. This will be a great place to meet with other Blender users and exchange ideas and techniques. The meeting time will be August 2 and 3, Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Sunday, 9:00 a.m. – 12 noon.
