I'm from Belgium, but I live now since 6 years in Brazil. I work in São Paulo, the main business center in America (and the fifth biggest city in the world), as an architect with Maíra, my girlfriend. She's architect too, and we work together since about a year.
We don't really consider ourselves as an architecture office, rather two independent architects working together. We actually try to stay small and not grow into some big company. Today it is more and more easier for "small people" to play in the big guys garden, and open-source software like Blender is a very important key to that. We use a lot of open-source software (about 70% of our work), and I hope that number to grow a lot in the future...
What we do now is mostly third-party service for architects and planners, like making execution plans for their projects, 3d visualization, etc... We work mostly with architects here in São Paulo, but more and more we work for and with other people from around the world through the internet. We also have a couple of small architecture projects on our own, but this is a part we are growing slowly and carefully. And we also try to make of our job something useful for the planet, so we help a bit around ngo's that need an architect...
